The Main Types of Cholesterol
Jan 9th
Cholesterol is important part of your body’s system. You cannot be healthy without it but unfortunately it is not that simple. If you have too much cholesterol you can become quite unhealthy in a very serious way. In fact because there are different types of cholesterol you can have too much of one type and too little of another type and be in a bad situation as well. With cholesterol it’s important to have it circulating through your blood stream in the right proportion based on cholesterol type. When this occur your chances for developing serious medical conditions diminishes significantly
The Main Types of Cholesterol
There are two main types of cholesterol with which you need to know of and which you need to have in the right proportions for optimal health. HDL cholesterol is the good type of cholesterol which you want a lot of and LDL cholesterol is the bad cholesterol which you want less of. It’s important to note that you have to have some LDL cholesterol just not a lot of it. Basically keeping lower LDL cholesterol levels is good for you and keeping higher HDL cholesterol levels is good for you. The opposite in both cases is bad for you.
LDL Cholesterol
LDL Cholesterol is typically found in fatty foods, red meats, and highly processed carbohydrates such as snack foods and fast food. Strangely it is fairly easy to avoid in large quantities if you stay away from western snacks and fast food. It’s true that if you eat large quantities of red meats you will be taking in elevated levels of HDL cholesterol but it’s much easier to do so by putting down fast foods, snack cakes, and potato chips.
LDL cholesterol is bad for you in elevated quantities because it circulates through your blood stream and forms the basis for many fatty deposits in your arteries. When the plaque deposits accumulate you are at a higher risk for heart disease and stroke.
HDL Cholesterol
HDL cholesterol is good for you because it counteracts the negative affects of LDL cholesterol. Circulating levels of HDL cholesterol in you blood act in a positive way by binding to the LDL cholesterol and flushing the excess from your blood stream. This effectively lowers the probability that the bad cholesterol will form plaques in your arteries and resultantly lowers your risks for heart disease and stroke.
Of course if you have elevated LDL cholesterol levels then you would need even higher levels of HDL cholesterol to offset the negative affects thus keeping your proportional balance is the best method in managing cholesterol levels.
You can actively raise HDL cholesterol levels by eating foods high in Omega-3 fatty acids such as fish and flaxseed. Olive oil has traits which promote a healthy balance between the two types of cholesterol while generally elevated levels of personal activity also aid the body in maintaining higher levels of HDL cholesterol and lower levels of LDL cholesterol. In an optimal situation you would eat right and exercise regularly to keep your main types of cholesterol in balance and keep your risks for heart disease and stroke low.

Jaundice – Causes and Treatment
Jan 1st
Jaundice is characterized by yellowing of the skin and the sclera or whites of the eyes. It is not a disease but only a sign to many other different diseases. Jaundice is caused by the high level of chemical bilirubin in the blood. Depending on the level of the chemical, the yellow pigmentation of the skin and the sclera may vary. When it is too high, it could appear as brown and not yellow.
Jaundice is a disease of the liver. It can occur when there is an obstruction in the bile duct, or if there is destruction of the red blood corpuscles. When a person has jaundice, their skin becomes yellow in color. This characteristic yellowness is seen even in the eyes and the fingernails. Stools and urine also get colored. The yellow color is an indication that the circulation of bile is in excess.
Infant jaundice is a condition which shows up as a yellow hue to the whites of the infants eyes and a yellow cast to the skin starting on the baby’s head and moving down to the toes.Jaundice occurs as a result of the breakdown of extra red blood cells associated with the transition form your fetus receiving oxygen from your placenta to supplying her/his own oxygen. Bilirubin is a by-product of this breakdown process, and when it is reabsorbed and circulates it tints the skin and eyes yellow.
The blood cells in your baby’s body are broken up into a yellow pigment called bilirubin. The level of bilirubin needs to be kept normal by the liver and kidneys by excreting it in the baby’s poop. But the liver of a newborn baby is not very mature. So bilirubin levels rise in the blood causing yellow pigmentation of the skin.More than 90% of newborn babies are affected by normal physiological jaundice. So relax. This type of jaundice is seen usually on second or third day of the baby’s life .
The main symptoms of jaundice are headache, fever, extreme point weakness, yellow eyes, skin, tongue, Dark urine, Light-colored stool. The patient also feels abdominal pain or swelling in the liver region. At the starting movement jaundices also irritates with intense itching. Now we will know about the treatment of jaundice. Because jaundice is not a specific disease so it is important for you that you should diagnosis of all the specific causes of the jaundice and treatment directed at the specific cause such as removing a gallstone that is blocking the bile duct, your jaundice will disappear.
Excessive red blood cells, present in large quantities in the foetal
circulation that carry oxygen break down, releasing sub-products known as serum bilirubin, which is usually disposed off by the liver and passes out through the bowels. Some babies are unable to handle such disposal, leading to jaundice. Premature and Asian infants have higher levels of serum bilirubin compared to their Caucasian counterparts. As such, neonatal jaundice is very common in Singapore.
To make sure that your infant is healthy and safe, always follow the advice given to you at the hospital or at your health care provider’s office. Determining the cause of jaundice and assessing the level of bilirubin in your newborn is always very important in order to prevent possible serious complications.

A Complete Guide For Healthy Sex
Dec 18th
Men are biologically programmed to do one thing as often and as good as they can: to fertilize as many females, as often as realistically possible. This is because that is what their genetic encoding tells them to do. It is the result of the survival of the species and this is what male mammals do. In fact, that is the prime task of any male species. Evolutionary speaking, “sex for fun” is a relatively new gadget that has only been around for the last few thousand years of evolution. Ten minutes or so on the evolutionary clock. “Sex for mutual fun” – again in evolutionary terms – is something BRAND NEW, only discovered a few centuries ago.
Having a fulfilling sex life builds self-confidence, self-esteem and personal empowerment. Sadly, many people expect sex to always work ‘naturally’ and ‘magically’. It doesn’t. Not always. Almost everyone will experience some kind of sexual concern at one point; whether it be low arousal, lack of sexual desire, inability to orgasm, being too quick to orgasm, sexual pain and discomfort, worries about ageing, inhibition due to concerns about body image.
Life is valuable to both. Wether “life” is God-given or the result of a long evolutionary trail – as far as the importance of life is concerned – is actually only a secondary argument. Those into “abstinence” for religious reasons refuse to take part in this – apparently and without question important – process. They wave their option to procreate, so to speak. They have to, otherwise they quite often cannot be part of “the management”. This leads to an interesting philosophical question: “Can it be a requirement for your management to not use the God-given ability?”
Mutual Agreement with Sex Positions.
If there are certain positions which are uncomfortable or undesirable, then find alternative sex positions to engage in. This ensures an enjoyable and exciting experience for both.
Learn the rules!
If there are any questions regarding Christian rules that are bothering you or your partner, consult a Christian intimacy guide and discuss it together whether you want to allow certain positions or acts into your intimacy.
Oral sex.
Oral sex can be an incredibly exciting experience for both and a great way to spice things up tremendously. If there are any questions regarding the allowable nature of oral, research the differing views and come to a conclusion together.
Sex dominates and it does dominate strongly in healthy human beings. Apart from those who believe in committed relationship, people do search fervently for sex on the Net. Men and Women seek love as well, but then for finding love many complex factors govern the chemistry of romance. Hence, compatibility is a serious issue on which love dating depends. In case of sex relationship, compatibility is less of an issue and physical attraction and sex appeal of a person is enough to make the match.
Having sexual intercourse during pregnancy is safe under certain conditions. For one thing, a woman who is in her first trimester can have normal sex until such time that her uterus begins to grow and her body adjusts as well. Doctors or pregnancy health care experts would usually suggest alternative sex positions for couples to try once the woman enters her second to third trimesters to avoid any complications. But if the pregnant woman has complications that could risk her health as well as the baby’s life, then it is best to not engage in sex unless your doctor or specialist says it is okay.
